I was going to get some shells and give it a whirl to insure proper function.16ga, serial number S981XX. Made in Belgium. Marked Sweet Sixteen. 27.5" VR barrel, 2 3/4" chamber, fixed choke (mod). Overall in excellent condition. Wood has been replaced. Wood is slightly proud at tang. Wood is excellent, very light wear. Metal is very good, shows pin prick rust spots. Bore is excellent, shows light leading.Remington did build the A5's for Browning during the WWII years when Belgium was occupied by the Germans. There was also a Standard 16 and a Sweet 16. The Sweet 16's Serial Numbers started with and S for 1953 - 1957.
