Gsg firefly problems.
As everyone else said, this thing has a few issues. Mine gives me a hard time depending on which ammo I use. It’s not the worst thing but my purchase for this gun was so that I had a firearm in the house for my wife to use in case someone tried to break in while I’m not home.
The Mosquito was made by German Sport Guns, aka GSG. They import them now as the GSG Firefly. It is a **** gun. The ZAMAK slide will eventually crack and the front will fall off. GSG makes airsoft guns. The GSG-5, the MP5 in .22, is an airsoft gun with a .22 built inside it. I shot my Firefly yesterday and for the 1st time had an issue, it would go into battery after about 75-100 rnds. I believe I forgot to lube the gun last cleaning. The 1911 shot fine. I cleaned both when I got home and lubed them, the Firefly cycled fine once lubed, no damage that I could find.None of this is out-of-line for a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol. The FireFly is a 95% scale of the P226 but weighs considerably less — 24.6 oz. compared to the P226’s 34.4 oz. The alloy frame overmolded with polymer makes the difference. The FireFly is Designed to Look and Feel Like a Sig Sauer P226.Slight update: There was a burr on the right rail. I hit it with a file (Lightly) and that stopped the slide locking problem. Piece of shit still doesn't run well. 1 out of every 20 or so rounds doesn't cycle correctly, but I put another 100 rounds through it.
